Below is a close-up of another firm favourite, Liberty of London print, in both blue and deep luscious pinks...Perfect autumnal colours.  We have stock of bibs, toy catchers, adult scarves and drawstring bags all in these fabulous fabrics.

In the same fabrics comes the Little Swans of London starter pack, consisting of waterproof bib with metal popper fastening, toy catcher and medium sized waterproof drawstring bag, all in the Liberty of London coordinating fabrics.  Items can also be purchased in the same fabric for all items.  All of the items are handmade by us to the highest standard.  All of our designs have been thoroughly and rigorously tested by Milo and ourselves.  Any item in our home must be washing machine and tumble dryer resistant and all of our items in the starter pack stand up to this domestic testing!

Seven Little Swans A Swimming

No matter how hard we try to deny it, Christmas is coming and the goose is being fattened up with haste!  Even though Hallowe'en hasn't yet knocked at our doors, Little Swans are using their tricks to make treats for the Christmas Craft Fair at St Andrews Hall, Norwich on 10th December, 2011.

Using some of our trademark fabrics, from Liberty of London, we're creating some classic lavender heart bags to add a soothing scent to a room or a wardrobe. 

In a nod to the impending festivities, we're also making some "Christmas" themed lavender bags... A steal for Santa at just £4 each.

Christmas Craft Fair in Norwich Saturday 10th December 2011

Little Swans of London will be attending the Christmas Craft Fair in Norwich Saturday 10th December 2011, which will be held at St Andrew's Hall, Norwich, from 10am until 3pm.

We look forward to meeting you at the Fair and showing you our latest products in time for Christmas!


We hope to post more images of our products in the next couple of weeks and would be delighted to receive orders for handmade beautifully wrapped gifts in time for Christmas.


Having loved wearing the Laura Ashley Mother and Daughter outfits when my daughter was younger (20+ years younger!), we used this as our inspiration for the "Wear Together" sets.  These comprise of handmade scarves for Mummies/ Aunties/ Grandmas made in stunning Liberty of London fabrics and matching handmade bibs in the same chic fabric.  They come packaged in a coordinating Liberty of London large drawstring bag, made with a waterproof lining.  My daughter uses the drawstring bags in my grandson's changing bag to keep organised and also to have a secure place to keep wet clothes etc.  


The "Cook Together" sets make fantastic gifts for parents, grandparents or carers.  They comprise of a handmade apron for adults made in either Cath Kidston or Liberty of London fabrics and a coordinating tabbard for little ones, made of durable and wipe cleanable oilskin.   The tabbards feature a soft, yet thick, cotton rear to enable little ones to sit comfortably.  The package can be completed with mini cooking utensils such as a mini rolling pin, wooden spoon and cookie cutter.  Functional, beautiful and thoughtful.  The perfect gift!


Currently in production are the "Work Together" sets, which use the same principle, but move out of the kitchen and into the garden...or the shed.  In place of the tabbard come workbelts.  Again they are made out of durable and bright oilskin, using Cath Kidston fabrics.


At the Craft Fair, we will also be selling a limited amount of individual bibs, bags and other items.  Details of which will follow...Not to mention our photos!

Christening Day

Here is a picture of my son and grandson at my grandson's Christening earlier this year.  My grandson is wearing one of our bibs made from Liberty of London Tana Lawn "Eloise" fabric.  We also make toy catchers and drawstring waterproof bags in this fabric.  Limited supplies!


As you might be able to see - if you look really closely - our Little Swans tags evolved from simple white cotton tags, with green writing, to black tags with white writing.  They also serve the dual purpose of a simple "Fertler" for babies to "fertle" with...


Our early prototype bibs have a velcro fastening, which is easier with younger babies.  Our new designs feature a popper fastening, which is harder for little tykes to pull off.  Our current stock includes both style of fastener.  All of our new bibs also now feature a waterproof backing, so that babies' clothes are kept clean and dry, helping keep dribble rash at bay.

Early Designs

Some images of my Grandson wearing our earlier designs... The bib is made from Liberty of London Tana Lawn "Pepper" print and the bouncer cover is Cath Kidston Cotton Duck Red Spot.


We have many items in the Liberty of London Tana Lawn "Pepper" (Bibs, Scarves for adults, toy catchers, Fertlers etc) and take commissions for the Cath Kidston fabric Bouncer cover.

As well as the bibs, we make a number of other items, including "Fertlers", one of which is pictured below.  The "Fertlers" come in a range of fabrics, many of which are part of sets, including Liberty of London, gingham and rockabilly fabrics.  Babies and young children love to "fertle" with the tags and can use the main body of the "fertler" as a comfort blanket or sleep aid:

Little Swans Of London

Little Swans of London was born at the same time as my Grandson!  Having difficulty finding stylish and practical clothes and accessories for baby boys (and their Mums!) I set to with my sewing machine, knitting needles and a stash of Liberty of London fabrics!
